Braciole, pronounced 'Brah-shole', can refer to any type of Italian dish when where a protein or vegetable is layer with a filling and rolled, tied and then cooked in it's own juices. This recipe use a typically tough piece of meat, round steak, that is turned into a delicious and very tender dish. Also known as Braciolone ('Brah-shah-lone-ay'), this type of roulade is traditionally filled with cheese, parsley, bread crumbs, pine nuts and raisins. Or substitute the raisins and pine nuts with thinly sliced Italian deli meat like prosciutto, capicola or pancetta.
