Filipino Custard Cake

A Filipino version of a flan. Constructed with a light caramel layer, a custard layer, and then a chiffon cake layer. This delicious dessert is both light and flavorful. Traditionally made with ube, a purple yam, that gives the chiffon layer a purple hue, this cake is made with lemon rind.



Prep: 15 minutes

Bake: 1 hour

Chill: 1 hour

Total 2 hrs 15 min.


Serves: 9 to 12
