A Japanese dish where a bread pork cutlet (Tonkatsu) is added to onions cooking in a stock-based sauce and finished with beaten egg. Serve hot over steamed rice. The dish is very easy to make. Mirin, a sweet seasoning for rice, can be found in most supermarkets in the ethnic food aisles...or substituted with sweet Marsala or dry sherry...but Mirin is best.
