Tamales

Tamales are a traditional dish that originates from what we now know as Mexico and Guatemala. It is dough (masa) wrapped filling that is steam cooked, wrapped in a corn husk or banana leaf. The wrapping is either discarded after cooking or used as a serving dish. The filling for a tamale can be meat, vegetable, fruits, herbs, etc.


Prep: 15 minutes

Cook: 45 minutes

Yield: 24 tamales
